Way2Go! Sports Privacy Policy
Summary
- The Way2Go! Sports app is a companion for families already registered in our youth sports league. You sign in with the email you used to register.
- We use your information only to run the league: to show you your child's team, schedule, standings, and to let you message your team and coach.
- We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- You can sign out or delete your app account at any time from the Profile screen.
Who We Are
Way2Go! Sports is a family-run youth sports league in the Santa Clarita Valley, California. This policy covers the Way2Go! Sports mobile app. Registration, payments, and league records on our website (way2gosports.com) are covered by the policies on that site.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Sign-in email. You enter the email address tied to your league registration. We email a one-time code to confirm it's you. We do not store a password.
- Messages you send. Team chat messages and coach announcements you post are stored so your team can read them.
- RSVPs. If you mark whether your player is attending a game or practice, we store that response for your team.
- Photos you attach in team chat. If you choose to share a photo, the app uses the system photo picker, so we only receive the specific photos you pick, never your whole library. Photos are re-encoded before storage, which removes hidden metadata such as GPS location, and photos from parents are reviewed before the rest of the team can see them.
Information from your league registration
- To show you the right team, we display information already on file from your registration: your player's name, team, division, and season, and your contact name. The app reads this; you enter it during registration on our website, not in the app.
Information collected automatically
- Push notification token. If you allow notifications, Apple gives us an app-specific device token that we associate with your sign-in email so we can send you team and league alerts. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- The app keeps a copy of your latest team and schedule data on your device so it works quickly and offline. That copy stays on your phone.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photo library, or any advertising identifier.
Payments
The app is free for every league family and contains no in-app purchases. We never see or store any card number or payment details through the app.
How We Use Your Information
- To sign you in and show you your family's teams, schedules, standings, and game results.
- To deliver team chat, coach announcements, and league alerts, and to send push notifications you've turned on.
- To keep the league safe: for example, letting you report or block a chat participant, and letting coaches remove inappropriate messages.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the app.
How Information Is Shared
- With your team. Messages you post and RSVPs you make are visible to the parents and verified coaches on that team. That is the purpose of team chat.
- Service providers. We use Apple Push Notification service to deliver notifications and an email provider to send your one-time sign-in code. They process this data only to provide those services.
- We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
- We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our participants.
Your Choices
- Notifications. Turn categories on or off in the app's Profile screen, or disable them entirely in your device Settings.
- Blocking. Block any chat participant from the message they sent; manage blocks under Profile.
- Sign out. Sign out from the Profile screen at any time.
- Delete your account. Use "Delete account" on the Profile screen. This removes your app sign-in and notification devices from our systems. League registration and payment records are kept as business records as described on way2gosports.com.
Children's Privacy
The Way2Go! Sports app is intended for parents, guardians, and coaches, not for children. Players do not create app accounts. A player's name and team are entered by a parent during registration so the family can see their own schedule. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the app.
Data Retention
We keep app data for as long as your family is active in the league. When you delete your app account, we remove your app sign-in and device tokens. Messages already delivered to a team may remain visible to that team's history for the season.
Tracking and "Do Not Track"
The app contains no advertising or analytics trackers, and no third parties collect personal information about your activity across other apps or websites through the app. Because we do not track you, the app behaves the same whether or not your browser or device sends a "Do Not Track" signal.
Security
Sign-in uses a one-time emailed code and a device-held token rather than a stored password. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
